Two Things That Make Me Smile...

I had an inkling to do some sewing today...I was planning on making a new purse but found this pattern for a onsie dress here and decided to make it instead. I used stuff I had leftover from other projects and whipped it up in less than an hour. Too cute!

Something else that makes me smile is getting a good deal.
I got these 10 boxes of crackers for $2.42.
$24.42 - Safeway price
-10.00 - Safeway deal for buying 10 boxes in a single transaction
-10.00 - Kraft/Nabisco rebate
-2.00 - Coupons

Pretty great deal considering how many crackers Hudson consumes... :)

My Four Month Old

Livia had her 4 month check-up the beginning of December and the Dr. told us she is healthy as can be! As I write this she is already 4.5 months old and closing in on the 1 year....err 5 month mark. It sure seems to go faster with the second child! Livia has been sleeping through the night now for over a month (such a blessing, especially since Hudson didn't do that until he was 2), she has also recently developed some hand-eye coordination and seems to be pretty happy about what she can do with those little hands of hers. She has a great little smile...can help but love our baby girl!

Winter Fun

Hudson has enjoyed our first snow of the year. This week was really the first time he's played in the snow. Last year after it snowed he went outside, got snow all over his glove said "yuck" and decided he had had enough. This year he "helped" me shovel the driveway and we made a snowman that was "almost as big as daddy!"

Time for Updated Photos...

I realized today that it has been almost a month since my last post so here's something new for you to look at! ;)

Hudson is more and more little boy these days and less and less a toddler

Livia's first somewhat successful attempt in the bumbo

This past weekend we went to central Oregon to visit Christian's grandmas - it was their first time meeting Livia. Here's Livia with Great-Grandma Pearl

With Great-Grandma Betty - what a blessing to have so many grandparents that love her!

She also has a big brother who loves her!

Big smile!

Livia graduated to the big bath tub

Hudson doesn't seem to mind sharing the tub and don't worry, he knows only to pour water on her feet or tummy!

Debbie & Livia chillin' watching some tv together.

3 Months Old!

Hard to believe - but Livia is now three months old. I was very pleased with the results from our first little photo session!

We Have a Thumb Sucker...

We are fighting a losing battle with thumb sucking here at our house...Livia has decided her thumb is far superior to a pacifier for sucking on...I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. My preference would be the pacifier because it's easier to take away and it doesn't mess up their teeth, etc...but, with her thumb...I don't have to go into her room to give that to her in the middle of the night and I don't have to worry about it being dropped on the floor in public places, or getting lost. But, no matter what I think it seems that Livia is going to make this decision regardless of what I think. In fact, as I sit here writing this Livia is hanging out in her bouncy seat trying her hardest to get that little thumb in her mouth and keep it there!

Caught in the act!

I had put her on the boppy to hang out and when I came back she was totally out of it...thumb in mouth again!

Hudson is still trying to get Livia to play trains with him

We're still working on that whole smile on command scenario...she's pretty cute either way!

A Trip To Canada

The weekend before last Christian took a couple days off of work and we made a long weekend trip to visit our Canadian friends. Shana was my college roommate and she's the kind of friend that you just pick up with where you left off....no matter how long it's been since we've been together. God knew what he was doing when he made us roommates....anyway...here are some photos from our trip.
Shana and I with our babies...Ryan was born in June.
Ryan paying a little visit to Livia

We went to a pumpkin patch kind of place with Jon & Shana and they had this old truck all done up like Mater...Hudson thought it was pretty cool!

Petting the goats...Hudson was a little braver around the animals than he has been before.

Smiles!

There's just nothing like smiles from your kids...

Livia figured out the smile business about a week ago. She still uses it sparingly, but it's great when she busts it out!

Hudson's smile is pretty great as well :)

Central Washington State Fair

Last Sunday we took the family to the fair here in town. Hudson enjoyed looking at all the animals...although I didn't take any pictures of that!
It's not every day you see a pumpkin larger than your child!

Mmmm...Ice cream...and the best bargain at the fair - only $1 for all that yummy goodness!

Livia's first trip to the fair...she was even less enthusiastic than her father was! ;)

Cool fire truck

Listening to Mr. Mike tell him a Bible story

This is where I spent many, many hours at the fair...the Fresh Taste Meals booth in the Sun Dome. I must say I got some excellent people watching in. It was also interesting getting to know some of the other vendors near by...and best of all, our presence at the fair seems to be bringing some new customers to the business already!

Eight Weeks

Do they look like siblings?

Hudson likes to "hold" his little sister

Check out them neck muscles!

She's more content these days to simply hang out and watch the happenings around her

Stretch, baby, stretch!

What's cuter than watching a one month old wake up?

A Smattering of New Photos

As you all know...kids change too fast!
Here are some recent pictures from our family.
Look who's seven weeks old!

Is that a smile I see? I think we're getting close to the smiles now...I've seen a couple of expressions that look that she might be trying to smile...I can't wait!

A lazy Sunday afternoon lounging at the side of the pool

A friend was getting rid of some Thomas stuff and Hudson was happily on the receiving end.

Isn't this so cool?

Is this how you watch TV?

Hudson decided we should wear these baskets as hats...

Precious, sleeping baby

Let's go for a walk! Hudson and Livia both seem to enjoy our morning walks.
