Holiday Fun

A couple of our pre-Christmas activities -

Livia & Hudson all bundled up at the Lighted Christmas parade downtown

My husband (who claimed he was freezing the whole time) along with Jacob & Debbie who joined us for the parade.

Waiting for Christmas cookies to finish baking

Helping to clean up after baking

Livia got in on the clean up action as well.

Musical Kids

I like to think that my kids will be musical since I like to think of myself as musical....We'll see how their current talents develop as they get older. :)

Hudson mastered "Away in the Manger" this Christmas season

One of Livia's favorite things to do right now is to climb up on the piano bench and "play" the piano. I think she's pretty cute!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day was spent with my family in George. We spent the next day with Christian's family in Moses Lake. I am so thankful for our wonderful family!

My dad decided we should do something other than just sit around and eat all day so we had a Wii bowling tournament (which my very talented husband won). Here's Hudson giving bowling a try.

My nephew Gio and my three brothers keeping track of the action

Hudson and Pierre were sitting together in this chair watching Cars and Livia climbed up to sit beside them...it was super cute.

Then she decided it was time for a little peek-a-boo

Hudson got a much desired visit with his 4 month old cousin Vesta. He wanted to hold her and kiss her and pet her....he really likes baby Vesta.

Livia, on the other hand, wasn't quite sure what to make of Vesta.

Life in these parts

Though some days my kids drive me crazy...more often then not they make me smile. My prayer is that I would treasure the moments the Father has given me with these precious children while they are here at home with me and that I would raise them in a way that honors Him. Here are some of those moments that make me smile...

Livia was having a tea party - she went into the dining room and got the tray for her high chair because apparently it was necessary for her "meal",

Hudson used the letters from his puzzle to spell his name - he's a smart one, if I do say so myself.

Trying on daddy's boots - they probably weigh as much as Hudson does.

Livia decided this cookie sheet could double as a bed in the kitchen

Our Cute Kids

A smattering of photos from our lives...
Smiles don't get much bigger than this!

Livia is finally starting to enjoy sitting still long enough to read a book.

Playing outside on one of the last warmish days of the fall. I just love Hudson's expression in this one...as if Livia is doing something so bizarre.

Her new favorite place to sit. If I'm working in the kitchen she'll come in, open the cabinet and have a seat.

Another Road Trip

The beginning of October we took another mini vacation to Oregon. First stop was Salem to visit my sister Christie & her hubby Dustin. Then we were off to Portland to see the Jensons & Mayfields before heading to the beach for a couple of days.

While in Salem we went to the Gilbert Discovery House - a great little children's museum.

Hudson loved the big play set and slides

He even took Livia down the little slide - and she obviously liked it too.

Hudson found something else that he loves...

A rocking chair for two with room to spare

Teaching my sister Christie to sew - first project a table runner.

One of the reasons for our trip to Oregon - a race with dear friend Christi on Cannon Beach. It was a 5K on the beach and I was pleasantly surprised with how hard the sand was so it didn't make the run too much more difficult. We were then able to spend a couple of nights all together at a condo in Seaside thanks to the generosity of Christian's parents. We enjoyed catching up with dear friends, played a bunch of games and had lots of laughs.

Hudson had such a great time being with Evie and Leyton again.

Snack and a movie together before bed.

Livia thought the coffee table was a jungle gym

Fair Fun

We received some free tickets to the state fair courtesy of my grandma (thank you!!). Debbie and I took the kiddos for a couple hours on Monday afternoon when there weren't very many people there.
My little cowgirl

Ride 'em cowboy!

Hudson loves the big pumpkins - don't you love the cheesy 3-year old smile.

Getting some petting zoo action - Livia was not afraid of anything!

Hudson got to ride one ride and you'll never guess what he chose - yep, the train

Pig Tails

First pigtails = super cute. Need I say more?

Vacation in Coeur D'Alene

We had the chance to spend a super extended labor day weekend with my sister Becca and her husband Jarred in Coeur D'Alene. We enjoyed playing tons of games with them in the evening and they were entertained by all of our kids' antics. They had this great little park in their neighborhood that we spent quite a bit of time at.
Becca & Hudson on the swing

My handsome hubby hanging out on the play set

We took a field trip to Cabela's in Post Falls since we had never been there before and had heard from several people about what an experience it was....Christian was most interested in the video game. ;)

Becca & Hudson checking out all the stuffed game animals

We spent part of one afternoon at the beach and in downtown - Hudson proceeded to get quite wet.

Beautiful Lake Coeur D'Alene

Trying on Daddy's sunglasses

Hudson with the moose in downtown Coeur D'Alene

Chillin' in the swing - this girl could swing for hours

Riding a duck - what fun!

Little girls can ride ducks too!

Scrunchy nose smile

At a park in Post Falls

My brother in law, Jarred, showed us all his gear for the new squad he's on as a corrections officer - he looked so scary Hudson wouldn't stand near him to get a photo. It was close to bedtime and Christian told Hudson he could either come take a picture with Jarred or go to bed. Hudson quickly replied, "I'm going to bed!"
We stopped in Spokane on our way home. We were going to take Hudson on the carousel in Riverfront Park but he wanted nothing to do with that. However, he did enjoy the giant wagon slide.

He informed me that he had to hold on to the sides so he wouldn't go too fast...he's a cautious one.

All tuckered out on the way home
