Josh Groban Concert

On August 27th I had the opportunity to go to a Josh Groban concert with my mom and sisters Becca & Debbie. It was such a great weekend! We spent all day Friday shopping (without husbands or kids...unheard of, right) and then enjoyed a phenomenal concert Saturday evening. We spent the night in Seattle then got up for more shopping on our way home.
What a perfect girls weekend!

Ready for the concert to start

I think this may have the best concert I have ever been to. He travels with a bunch of very talented musicians and he was an entertaining guy when he spoke to go along with his great singing abilities.

Livia's Two Year Photos

I finally managed to have a successful photo shoot with Livia. She was all smiles and cooperation, which was oh so nice after all our failed attempts at the sunflower field.
This is my favorite

She does have some attitude, it's true...
The BIG smile
Such a cutie

Grant County Fair

This year marks 100 years for the Grant County Fair - and that meant today it was free to get in....that meant today was the day for us to go because I like free!

Livia pointing out a large pig.

Livia really liked the sheep - she told nearly all of them "hi" or gave them an enthusiastic "baa".

These sheep were stylin' in pink...

Hudson enjoyed digging in the giant trough of field corn.

Livia and daddy checking out a horse who was laying down. Livia says "shhh".

Petting a very friendly goat.

Getting some loving from Tia (also known as Aunt Angela)

Livia insisted on holding Hudson's hand so he dragged her along as quick as she would go.

Last stop of the afternoon - the carnival for one ride. They made it around exactly one time before Livia and Hudson both decided they had chosen a ride that was just too scary.

Livia's Birthday

Hard to believe my little girl is two already! At her two year dr. appointment she measured in at 37" (100 percentile and as tall as Hudson was at this 3 year appointment!) and weighed in at 30lbs (90th percentile). I knew she was tall....no wonder she's already outgrowing the 2T clothes! She is a happy little girl who enjoys following her brother around outside as well as playing with her babies inside. Her vocab is finally starting to come along and I feel like I know what she's trying to communicate about 70 percent of the time. Here are a few shots from her birthday party.

It's a miracle...she actually looked at the camera and smiled!

Hudson helping her unwrap one of her new baby dolls.

I had to hold her hands while we sang because she really wanted to touch the candle flames.
I forgot to take a photo of just the cake...it was two tiers topped with a teddy bear.

Uncle Shawn and Cousin Vesta (the kids favorite party guest) looking cute together.

More Summer Fun

Here are some more random summer tidbits...
Hudson has really enjoyed being able to play with my
little brothers when they come to work with Dad.
Jeffley
Look at that natural, athletic ability.
Happy Hudson :)
Livia sporting a dress that my grandma brought back for me from Hawaii about 25 years ago.
Now this is my son - look at that nice, organized line of cars and trucks.
Our girly, girl - sporting mom's shoes and a lovely necklace.
First super sweet corn of the summer - yum!
Livia's first ever corn on the cob...
She was a big fan - ate it all!

Summer Fun

I realized that it has been well over a month since I've posted anything on my blog. We have been crazy busy moving into our new house on the farm. Renovations have begun on the bathrooms, I've been painting, unpacking, trying to take care of a HUGE yard on top of all my usual mommy duties and it has kept me super busy...hence the lack of photos and posting. Here is a random smattering of photos from the last month or so...
Hudson & I playing at an elementary school near our condo in Moses Lake.
Livia out farming with daddy
Hudson watching daddy do his new job
Hudson was happy to be out with his dad.
My farming hubby mixing up some fungicides to put on the potatoes.
There is a field of sunflowers not too far from our house and we've been trying to get a good 2 year photo of Livia but so far she has been largely uncooperative.
Could have been super cute if she had smiled...
Hudson was all about posing for the camera
Still not smiling...
Uncle Carlos took Hudson out for a fishing trip on the lake. He even got to "drive" the boat.
