First Solids....and Other Stuff

Livia got to join the world of solid food eaters this past week. She's starting to catch on now that we're into week two. I know I say this every time, but it's hard to believe that she's already to this point. Another couple in our church had a baby this week and seeing how tiny she is was just crazy. That was just 5 months ago!!! Life is such a miracle...God is definitely the master planner and designer.
First taste of rice cereal - most of it came back out, but she seemed to enjoy herself!

This is a good look, don't you think - deer caught in the headlights with dinner all over the face

No, that's not chocolate (too bad for her!). Livia was having some issues....so prunes were the choice for first solid food.

Hudson showing Livia his computer

Look who's 5 months old!

Hudson is definitely a child of the 21st century...he has Christian's Ipod touch all figured out...especially the games and movies!

Such concentration

Christmas

On the whole I wasn't thrilled with how my Christmas photos turned out. We enjoyed spending time with both of our families and Hudson was thoroughly spoiled! Anyway, here's a small taste of our Christmas.

Hudson playing with one of his favorite gifts - check out that concentration!

Two Things That Make Me Smile...

I had an inkling to do some sewing today...I was planning on making a new purse but found this pattern for a onsie dress here and decided to make it instead. I used stuff I had leftover from other projects and whipped it up in less than an hour. Too cute!

Something else that makes me smile is getting a good deal.
I got these 10 boxes of crackers for $2.42.
$24.42 - Safeway price
-10.00 - Safeway deal for buying 10 boxes in a single transaction
-10.00 - Kraft/Nabisco rebate
-2.00 - Coupons

Pretty great deal considering how many crackers Hudson consumes... :)

My Four Month Old

Livia had her 4 month check-up the beginning of December and the Dr. told us she is healthy as can be! As I write this she is already 4.5 months old and closing in on the 1 year....err 5 month mark. It sure seems to go faster with the second child! Livia has been sleeping through the night now for over a month (such a blessing, especially since Hudson didn't do that until he was 2), she has also recently developed some hand-eye coordination and seems to be pretty happy about what she can do with those little hands of hers. She has a great little smile...can help but love our baby girl!

Winter Fun

Hudson has enjoyed our first snow of the year. This week was really the first time he's played in the snow. Last year after it snowed he went outside, got snow all over his glove said "yuck" and decided he had had enough. This year he "helped" me shovel the driveway and we made a snowman that was "almost as big as daddy!"

Time for Updated Photos...

I realized today that it has been almost a month since my last post so here's something new for you to look at! ;)

Hudson is more and more little boy these days and less and less a toddler

Livia's first somewhat successful attempt in the bumbo

This past weekend we went to central Oregon to visit Christian's grandmas - it was their first time meeting Livia. Here's Livia with Great-Grandma Pearl

With Great-Grandma Betty - what a blessing to have so many grandparents that love her!

She also has a big brother who loves her!

Big smile!

Livia graduated to the big bath tub

Hudson doesn't seem to mind sharing the tub and don't worry, he knows only to pour water on her feet or tummy!
