Haiti

This last week I had the privilege to go with my mom down to Haiti to help her bring my two new brothers home. It was quite an adventure as Haiti is really nothing like the U.S. Kendy (pronounced Kenzy) and Jeffrey were very happy to see us and were both real troopers on the trip home. It was a long week including 7 airports in 6 days, time changes and too much humidity. I was very happy to be home on Saturday but very thankful for the opportunity to see where my brothers came from.

Ahhh the beach. We took a walk along the beach but didn't have enough time to linger.

Our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. We lived the high life for a day before heading to Haiti.

Sunrise over the ocean.

The little airplane we took from Port au Prince to Cap Haitian

The view of the cockpit....from my seat!

Jeffrey...such a cutie!

Playing a little baseball with one of the volunteers from the states.

The main orphanage building where the kids eat and sleep.

Huge mango tree in the middle of the orphanage grounds...it was great for shade in all that heat and humidity.

Mom got them these backpacks to take on the airplane. They were sooo excited...they had to run around and show them to everyone and then they wanted to know when we were leaving.

We got to see some wildlife in the form of a cockroach at the airport.

Kendy enjoying a chocolate chip cookie for the first time on the airplane to Ft. Lauderdale

Jeffrey chillin' on the train ride from Ft. lauderdale to Miami.

House

Our Hiline coordinator told Christian last week that we're still about 2 months away from completion. That puts us at the end of September which was a little later than we were anticipating but oh well. We are currently waiting for our permanent power to get hooked up and then hiline will start the drywall.

Since this photo they have completed the siding...looking more like a real house.

Back of the house

Here's the kitchen :)

Hudson

It seems that the photos of Hudson are slowing down around here...although I would say he's still the cutest kid on the planet!

Taking a snooze in the car

Hudson's first Oreo experience....he's a big fan!

Yummy!

Pool Video

As you can see...Hudson loves his new pool

Finally, new pictures of Hudson

We have moved in with some very hospitable friends from church...but we they only have dial up for internet so hence the delay in the blog update.

When I was packing I had these little bins out on the ground and Hudson thought they were great to sit in.

I bought Hudson a pool this week....he loves playing in the water.

We even did the slide into the pool....

Just like dad - reading the Wall Street Journal with breakfast

I had to be careful when I was packing that the boxes weren't stacked in any maner that he could climb

Daddy teaching Hudson how to play the Wii

Hudson was pretty focused on the task

Fun times on Thomas the train

House Update

Here's an updated photo of our house. They're now down with the rough electric, plumbing and duct work. Next week they should install the windows, exterior doors and the siding. We're clipping right along....hopefully it'll stay that way!
